Murrells Inlet Real Estate

This is an area with a rich history that includes the English settlements that are a part of the first recorded history of this area. The land was first divided into tens of thousands of acres and then subdivided into plantations that ranged in size from 500 acres to 1500 acres. The Oaks, Springfield, Brookgreen, Richmond Hill, Laurel Hill and Wachesaw are a few of the plantations that were formed as a result of the subdivisions.  

The Murrells Inlet Historic District has a number of buildings that relate to this era. Approximately 19 houses built from 1848 into the 1900s are part of the district and portray early building styles with large screened porches and the marshland setting, trees draped with hanging moss and piers.

Residents of Murrells Inlet real estate are served by the Horry County School District. As a town chosen by many retirees, Murrells Inlet is paradise for nature lovers. There are many areas that may be enjoyed by fishermen and bird watchers. The town has retained much of the small fishing village ambiance and is a preferred area in which to live away from the hub bub of larger cities. However, it is only 10 miles to Myrtle Beach where a variety of entertainment is available.

This community provides an attractive option for many including families. It is a safe place to raise children or a location for young professionals to commute for job opportunities. The proximity to Myrtle Beach is one of the reasons this area is chosen by many.
